DESCRIPTION
Train to be a Master Gardener. Be able to answer questions about all aspects of gardening from pests and insects, plant diseases to how to plant a xeriscape garden and which trees are best for our climate and more.
TIME COMMITMENT & SCHEDULE
Attend a one day per week training session for up to 12 weeks. Donate 50 hours (by September 30th of the same year) upon completion of the training program. Donate 24 hours and train 12 hours per year in subsequent years.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with answering resident questions via phone calls and plant clinics. Other gardening related projects and opportunities available.
TRAINING, SUPERVISION & SUPPORT
Training by CSU Extension Horticultural Specialists and Agents
Supervision by CSU Extension Director, Broomfield
REQUIREMENTS (i.e. valid driver's license, age limit, application required)
Volunteer application, Disclosure Form and photo ID for background check are required. A valid driver’s license is required. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must pass the background check prior to assignment. Interviews will be conducted. Space limited. Training to held each year.
