7th Annual CARA Big Game Fun Run Sunday, February 1, 2009, 11 a.m.

Okay, before you head out to watch the BIG game come and enjoy some time out side and exercise. BRING YOUR DOG. We offer three courses of different distances through the Broomfield County Commons Area. This run is designed for people of all ages —you pick your distance and your pace. Race is run rain or shine. Pre register by January 28 and receive the early bird rate of only $15.  Any runner under the age of 16 can bring someone over the age of 16 at no cost.


Senior Wellness Conference Wellness is Young at Heart
Living with the mind thought of “Young at Heart” promotes Healthy Living and that is our focus of this year’s conference. At our conference you will be pampered with massages, venture out on a health walk, EAT, try new activities, and laugh and love a lot. Don’t forget, there are lots of opportunities to win great door prizes. The 10th Annual Wellness Conference is brought to you by the Broomfield Senior Chronologically Gifted Committee and is held at the Broomfield Community Center. Pre-registration required (lunch included).

Student Art Show March 13–14, 2008
Each year, Broomfield Recreation Services and the Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities sponsor the Student Art Show. This art show is open to students K–12 attending Broomfield area schools. The art show is designed to give students an opportunity to display their work allowing the community a chance to view the quality artwork created by the young artists in Broomfield. Students interested in participating in this show should speak with their school’s art teacher. For more information call Dana at 303-464-5530.

Broomfield Summer Job Fair Saturday, March 21, 9 am–12 pm
Come to our 8th Annual City and County of Broomfield Summer Job Fair and learn about seasonal job openings for ages 14 and up in Parks and Recreation! Be prepared to fill out an application—bring information on previous employment history including dates and contact information as well as three personal references. You will also have to provide the days and times you cannot work during the summer including any vacations. This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the positions. Preschool Easter Party
We’ll have a hoppin’ good time meeting the Easter Bunny, receiving Easter candy and playing games. We also offer face painting and inflatables. This event is for ages 2–5 years. Location: BCC

Eggstravaganza Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Broomfield Community Center
There is no registration—just show up! March with the Easter Bunny at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Broomfield Events Center. After marching with the Easter Bunny, children, age 8 and under, can participate in the 16th Annual Egg Scramble. The Egg Scramble begins promptly at noon. Children are divided into the following age groups: 2 yrs & under, 3 & 4 yrs, 5& 6 yrs and 7 & 8 yrs.

Meals on Wheels Basket Auction Friday, May 1, 6 pm
Please plan to attend the 9th Annual Meals on Wheels Basket Auction to benefit Broomfield Meals on Wheels. The silent auction and reception begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by a live auction presented by our Master of Ceremonies, Paul Derda. The Senior Services staff and Senior Resources of Broomfield would like to thank the community for their support of this worth while and fun event. Spring Book and Gift Fair Thursday, March 19, 9 am–1 pm
Just in time for those Easter gifts! Book Fairs are not just about books anymore; there are wonderful gift items, a large variety of books and book sets and all at great prices!! Mini Haha Triathlon Sunday, June 14 6:30 am
Join us for the 9th annual Mini Haha Triathlon (Mini cuz it’s short, Haha cuz it’s fun)! This triathlon is designed for beginners or recreational athletes looking for a new challenge. Participants swim 300 yards, bike 11 miles, and run or walk 2 miles. Registration begins March 17, 2009 and will run until maximum registration is met (525 participants).
