Senior Wellness Conference
The Greatest Wealth is Health
This year’s conference will focus on how great it is to be fit (healthy) physically and mentally. At our conference you will be pampered with massages, venture out on a health walk, EAT, try new activities, and laugh and love a lot. Don’t forget, there are lots of opportunities to win great door prizes too! The 14th Annual Wellness Conference is brought to you by the Broomfield Senior Chronologically Gifted Committee and is held at the Broomfield Community Center. Student Art Show
March 9 - 10, 2012
Each year, Broomfield Recreation Services and the Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities sponsor the Student Art Show. This art show is open to students K - 12 attending Broomfield area schools. The art show is designed to give students an opportunity to display their work allowing the community a chance to view the quality artwork created by the young artists in Broomfield. Students interested in participating in this show should speak with their school’s art teacher. For more information call Dana at 303.464.5530.

This event is very special this year! We will have the Easter Bunny available for you to take pictures, face painting, a “special” egg hunt, Easter games, inflatables, and prizes! For ages 2 - 5 years .

Eggstravaganza!
Saturday, April 7
There is no registration; Just show up! March with the Easter Bunny at 11:30 a.m. in front of The Bay to John Shaw Field at the Broomfield Community Park. After marching with the Easter Bunny, children, age 8 and under, can participate in the 18th Annual Egg Scramble, held at John Shaw Field. The Egg Scramble begins promptly at noon. Children are divided into the following age groups: 2 years & under, 3 & 4 years, 5& 6 years and 7 & 8 years. (In case of inclement weather, the Egg Scramble will be at the Broomfield Community Center.) Please call 303.464.5501 or check the website for more information.

Paws in the Park
Saturday, April 7 at 3 p.m.
Stop by the Broomfield Dog Park at the Broomfield County Commons
for a Easter Egg hunt for the dogs, Easter Bonnet Parade and Pictures with the Bunny. The Parade will begin at 3 p.m. at the Dog Park. The Egg Hunt will follow the parade in the small and large dog parks. Bring a basket for the treats. All dogs MUST be on a leash for this event. No aggressive dogs and please pick up after your pet. Please pre-register. Presented by Broomfield’s Camp Bow Wow.

Meals on Wheels Basket Auction
Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m.
Please plan to attend the 12th Annual Meals on Wheels Basket Auction to benefit Broomfield Meals on Wheels. The silent auction and reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by a live auction. The Senior Services staff and Senior Resources of Broomfield would like to thank the community for their support of this worth while and fun event. Mini HaHa Triathlon
Sunday, June 10, 7:30 a.m.
Join us for the 12th annual Mini Haha (Mini cuz it’s short, Haha cuz it’s fun)! This triathlon is designed for beginners or recreational athletes looking for a new challenge. Participants swim 300 yards, bike 11 miles, and run/walk 2 miles. Registrations will be accepted via mail or drop off until Monday, March 19. All registration forms must be filled out completely with payment to be considered for the lottery. We will randomly select and then register participants for the event. After the maximum capacity has been met, participants will be placed on the waitlist.


3rd Annual Frank Shorter RACE4Kids’ Health

This 5K USATF-certified course uses chip timing that can be used for the BolderBOULDER qualification. Proceeds benefit Healthy Learning Paths, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering children by teaching strategies for success in health, learning and life. Broomfield Brawler - The Ultimate Scavenger Hunt
Sunday, May 20, 2012
It’s a scavenger race set right here in Broomfield and is conducted in a few hours. First, the race stops are a secret - hence the “scavenger” part of the name. Running and biking will be utilized during the race. Additional disciplines that each team may use could include climbing, scootering/skating, navigation, and some surprises. Technically, swimming is not listed but we reserve the right to get racers wet! Grab your running shoes, bikes and helmets and we’ll provide the rest! Registration forms will be accepted via mail or drop-off to Broomfield Community Center or the Paul Derda Recreation Center until April 15 ! All registration forms must be filled out completely with payment attached. Payment by check only, made out to”F.R.I.E.N.D.S of Broomfield”. Late registrants may be accepted at the discretion of the race committee and will not receive a tech shirt. Team Check-In is Saturday, May 19 from 8 - 10 a.m. at the Paul Derda Recreation Center.

2nd Annual Cow Plop Drop
Wednesday, July 4 from 5 - 7 p.m.
Let the (cow) chips fall where they may. This fundraiser benefits Broomfield Meals on Wheels. Claim a plot of land (for a $10 donation) where you think our cow will “plop”, and if he does, you get $500! And don’t forget your Cow Plop Drop shirt for a $10 donation as well. The fundraiser takes place at Broomfield’s Great American Picnic at the Broomfield County Commons (NE quadrant of the park). You do not need to be present to win. Plots can be claimed starting May 4 at the Meals on Wheels Basket Auction, and at the Broomfield Senior Center starting on May 7. So y’all come on down and get yer land parcels! Great American Picnic
Wednesday, July 4
We start our celebration at 5:30 p.m. with pony rides and inflatables. Enjoy a free concert with “FACE” and later “Soul School”. Bring your picnic dinner or enjoy a dinner from our vendors at the park. Charcoal grills are not permitted. After the concert, at dusk, the fireworks display begins, approximately 9:15 p.m..
