About the event ...

The Colorado Fireworks Tournament is a National caliber tournament that has operated for thirty years. It began as a local tourney and was transformed into one of the best invitational tournaments in the country. It started in the City of Arvada (western suburb of Denver) and operated as the COLORADO FIRECRACKER for seventeen years. Eleven years ago the tournament changed its name to the "Colorado Fireworks." Broomfield has now hosted the event for 13 years. The 18U and 16U divisions are played in Aurora.

Along the way the tournament attracted the top teams from around the nation as well as over "300 college coaches" to scout the talent. Many teams use the tournament as a recruiting tool. We are happy to invite your team to the tourney. There are only a few teams lucky enough to make it.

Dates June 29-July 3 (Saturday-Wednesday) Practice games will be available on Friday, June 28.		Site Map to Fields Maps and directions to Broomfield City of Broomfield, Community Park Complex. Located 10 minutes southeast of Boulder and 10 minutes north of Denver. Easily accessible from both I-25 and US 36.

Format The tournament will again consist of "pool play" followed by a double elimination bracket. All teams are guaranteed 6 games. (Practice games are also available). Click Here for the pool play schedule		Practice Games Practice games are available June 28. The cost is $40 per game and each team is asked to furnish a game ball. Games are on a first-come first-serve basis. A practice game request form will be mailed to teams requesting games. Click Here for the practice game schedule

Coaches Meeting A coaches meeting is held at the Broomfield Community Center on Friday, June 28, 5:00 p.m. Please ensure a coach is present to represent your team.		Pairings Pool play will match strength against strength. Teams from same area will not play one another whenever possible.

Entry Fee The entry fee is $500. Make check payable to the "City of Broomfield". A full Refund (minus a $50 administrative fee) will be returned if cancelled before February 1, 2002. Absolutely no refunds after this date. Each team is responsible for purchasing a $150 "Gate Fee Package". This fee must be purchased by May 1, 2002 and can be used as a fundraiser for your team. You will receive more information on how this program works once your team has been accepted to the tournament.		Housing Area hotel rooms for 1 to 4 people are available from $70 to $100 per night with the average cost per girl around $25. Rooms have been set aside at a few hotels. Reservations must be made by individual teams. Once you have entered the tournament, a hotel packet of information along with tournament packet will be sent to you.

Awards - Top four teams will receive team trophies. Individual trophies awarded for the top two teams. First place plaques awarded to pool winners.
