Open Space And Trails Mission Statement

The Open Space and Trails staff is committed to:
Enhancing the community’s quality of life by acquiring open space to preserve water resources, wildlife, agricultural uses, and unique geographic features so that every resident is able to have a positive connection with the natural environment.
Creating a comprehensive network of trails so that every citizen has the opportunity to walk and bicycle to open space, parks, neighborhoods, schools, commercial centers, and public facilities throughout the community.

Preschool Morning Nature Walks
These walks are designed especially for preschoolers and their guardians. Take a walk with naturalists through Broomfield’s open space areas. Learn about the animal life and plant life in your own backyard. Explore the area and learn about nature while having fun. There is NO CHARGE for these programs!

Family Moonlight Walks
Get a different feel for Broomfield’s open space as you explore it with a naturalist after dark. These walks are scheduled to occur either during a full moon or a new moon. Please bring a flashlight. There is NO CHARGE for these programs!

Fishing Derby

The Broomfield Open Space Foundation (BOSF) in cooperation with the City and County of Broomfield and the Colorado Parks & Wildlife is sponsoring a Free Kids Fishing Derby.
