NOXIOUS WEED IDENTIFICATION


FIELD BINDWEED: Convolvulus arvensis L.

                                       

Characteristics:

    Field Bindweed is on the C list of Colorado's Noxious Weed List.  It is found everywhere, frequently climbing up fences and over other plants.  Flowering occurs June through the first fall frost.  Multiple white to pinkish flowers produce seed pods containing a prolific amount of seed.  Seeds can remain viable for 50 years!  Leaves are alternate and arrowhead shaped.  It is a member of the morningglory family.
