BROOMFIELD, CO - City and County
Manager George Di Ciero has announced the
appointment of Patricia Soderberg as Finance
Director for Broomfield. The appointment took
effect February 1. She follows Greg Demko who left
Broomfield Jan. 22 for a post in North Carolina.
Soderberg came to the Finance
Department in 1998 and has been Deputy Director of
Finance for Broomfield since 2001. Prior to
coming to Broomfield, she worked for the City of
Louisville as Accounting Supervisor, for the City
of Thornton as Senior Accountant and Programmer
Analyst, for American AgCredit Corp. as
Controller, and for Ernst and Whinney as a Staff
Auditor.
Soderberg graduated Magna Cum
Laude from the University of Colorado with a
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
During her tenure with Broomfield,
Soderberg has been instrumental in implementing
new financial software, developing improved
monthly reports and preparing he Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report. She was active in
providing important staff support during
Broomfield’s transition to a combined city and
county.
Soderberg has been a guiding force
in Broomfield’s successful receipt of the
Certification of Achievement from the Government
Finance Officers Association for excellence in
financial reporting. Broomfield has earned this
award for 19 consecutive years, 11 of them under
Soderberg’s tutelage.
