Residents asked to comment on plan

Residents are invited to comment on a consolidated plan for 2009-2010 outlining the city’s housing and community development needs and goals for projects that benefit those with low and moderate incomes.

Those who wish to comment on the draft plan should come Monday, March 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to the Silver 2 Room of the Broomfield Senior Center or on Thursday, March 26 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Eisenhower Room of the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library.

The plan and comments are required for Broomfield to be a recipient of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Senior Center is located at 280 Lamar St., and the library is located at 3 Community Park Rd.

For the 2009-2010 funding period, Broomfield proposes funding of $100,000 for the Housing Rehabilitation Program, $45,000 for the Mobile Home Repair Program, and $7,950 for emergency stay hotel vouchers. A copy of the plan may be read by visiting www.broomfieldhousing.org. To request a copy of the Executive Summary, call 303.438.6396.
