Conversation Groups

On-going - Practice your spoken English in the Library’s conversation groups. The conversation groups are a fun way to improve your English and learn more about life in the United States. These classes are not English as a Second Language classes and do not specifically emphasize grammar or vocabulary. No registration needed. Come anytime!Conversation Groups

Conversation Class La Biblioteca Pública de Broomfield ofrece clases para personas que hablan español . La clase es informal, para gente que quiere mejorar su inglés hablado, sin enfocarse tanto en la gramática. Las clases son gratis, pero limitadas a pocas personas. English Language Classes~First day of class: September 12, 2011; Registration starts August 15. The cost is $20 plus the cost of the textbook. Class sizes are limited! Schedules/Books:  Beginning:  Monday & Thursday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.  No textbook; Intermediate:  Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Textbook:  Practice Makes Perfect: Intermediate English Grammar for ESL Learners (cost through Amazon.com is approx. $8.80 + shipping); Advanced:  Thursday & Friday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Textbook:  Endeavor Student Book 8 (order at www.newreaderspress.com or call 800-448-8878)(Cost is $14.75 + $6.50 S&H = $21.25)

The library offers beginning, intermediate and advanced classes. These classes focus on vocabulary, grammar, and reading.

One-on-One Computer Tutoring
Computer Tutoring Tutoring Includes:
  • 4 one-hour lessons with volunteer tutors, individualized to your needs

  • Introductory topics such as computer fundamentals, basic email, Internet, and word processing

  • Access to books and online tutorials on additional computer topics
Expectations:
  • Four week commitment

  • At least 48 hours notice of cancellation out of respect for the tutor's time. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of participation. Students may call 720.887.2350 to cancel.

Literacy Tutoring
Literacy TutoringThe Adult Learning Program offers one-to-one tutoring for adults wishing to improve their reading skills. Tutoring is provided by a trained volunteer. It’s fun and discreet. Do something for yourself this year. Rev up your reading! For more information, please call 720-887-2328.
