Brooomfield Park

Broomfield has over 66 miles of trails, more than 700 acres of developed parks and 45 playgrounds. This is 16 acres of available outdoor active living for every 1,000 citizens. If you like to take your dog to the park, please read our leash law policy.

NEW PUBLIC SPACE NOW AVAILABLE!
Fly your RC aircraft in Broomfield!

The City and County of Broomfield has designated a public location for the flying of small “Park Flyer” electric Remote Control Aircraft.  The location is under a temporary one year pilot program to determine if the new use is compatible with the surrounding area including wildlife, other programs and the neighborhood.   The Broomfield Municipal Code, Ordinance 12-28-280 Certain conduct prohibited states: (G) Within any park, it is unlawful for any person to fly model airplanes in any park, except at locations specifically designated by the director of parks and recreation.

The City and County of Broomfield is now providing a specifically-designated area for flying model airplanes.  The RC Airfield is located at approximately West 144th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard, just west of the current 4H Archery Range.  This location will remain temporary.  Future development of the area may result in use changes.  Further, the use will be evaluated after one year by representatives of the Parks, Open Space, and Public Works staff. Should complaints or concerns arise before one year passes, the use may be evaluated earlier and the space could be discontinued.   Please contact the Broomfield Police Department to report immediate misuse, concerns and complaints, 303-438-6400.

Please direct other questions to Nancy Harrold at or 303-460-6903.
