Open Enrollment is the time of year where you
can make changes to your insurance benefits without a qualifying event and enroll/re-enroll
in the flexible spending accounts for the next plan year. The Open Enrollment period for 2014 insurance
coverages is from November 1 thru November 30, 2013, and from November 1 thru
December 9, 2013, for flexible spending accounts. Enrollments and changes will be effective
January 1, 2014.
We will continue to offer Anthem HMO, Kaiser,
Anthem EAP, Delta Dental, VSP, 24Hour Flex and the other insurance coverages we
currently have in 2013; however, we have some changes in premiums for Anthem, Kaiser and VSP, as well as
out-of-pocket maximums so please review the 2014 Open Enrollment Presentations and Benefit Summaries below.
If you have no changes for your insurance
coverages, no forms are needed. However, if you wish to participate in the wellness programs for the premium reduction and/or deductible credits under the Anthem plan, the necessary requirements must be completed by November 30, 2013 to be eligible for the 2014 plan year. You will
need to complete new election forms if you wish to participate in the flexible
spending accounts for 2014, even if you are already participating in 2013. New election forms for “flex” accounts are
required for each plan year and you may need to make adjustments based on
changes to out-of-pocket amounts for 2014.
Funds for changes to the Retiree Reimbursement Program were approved in the 2014 budget. Please watch for more details regarding this program.
The maximum reimbursement for the Part-Time Medical Insurance Reimbursement will increase to $300 per month, effective for January 2014 premiums. Please note: 2013 claims must be received by HR no later than March 1, 2014.
