Paper Shredding Program

Broomfield's Environmental Services division partners with Shred-It to provide safe and secure, on-site destruction of your Shredding eventconfidential documents such as tax, medical, and bank forms. Limit of three boxes (banker's or copy paper boxes weighing no more than 35 lbs. per box) per vehicle. Shred-It will also take up to three 32-gallon trash bags of shredded paper.

The 2014 events are scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, Sep. 13, 9 a.m to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

The location is the west parking lot of #6 Garden Center (Broomfield's Health and Human Services Building). This is located just north of Midway Boulevard. Use the parking lot entrance by Wells Fargo Bank and follow the signs.

Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

It's not safe to flush prescription drugs down the toilet or throw them in the trash! Broomfield's Environmental Services Division and Police Department are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in its Prescription Drug Take-Back Program. Please bring unwanted or expired prescription drugs (liquid or solid) for safe disposal—no questions asked.

Intravenous solutions, injectables, needles and illicit substances will NOT be accepted.

The event will be on Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
NO appointment is necessary.

The location is 3001 W. 124th Ave. (Norman Smith Service Center). From Lowell Boulevard, turn east on 124th Avenue and follow the signs.

Spring Cleanup (Broomfield residents only)
Saturdays: April 26, May 3, or May 10 (dependent on where you live)

Large item disposalBroomfield has contracted with Western Disposal Services to provide CURBSIDE pickup of large non-hazardous waste items not normally taken by the trash haulers. Large waste items at the curb by 7 a.m. on your designated day will either be picked up for recycling or taken to the landfill. Please make sure your large items are separated from your normal weekly trash.

The Broomfield Rotary Clubs and ARC Thrift Store will provide FRONT PORCH pick-up of tagged clothes and reusable items.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days (Broomfield residents only)

Saturday, May 10, 9 a.m. to noon - By Appointment Only!

Environmental Services provides this program for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste FREE of charge. You must obtain an appointment by calling 303.438.6334. Additional information and instructions will be provided when your appointment is confirmed.

The location is 3001 W. 124th Ave. (Norman Smith Service Center). From Lowell Boulevard, turn east on 124th Avenue and follow the signs.

A second collection day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.
