Boulder Broomfield Regional Consortium
Consortium
In September 2008, Broomfield was awarded status as a Community Development Block Grant entitlement community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This status allows Broomfield to receive a yearly allocation of funding for housing and community development programs that primarily benefit persons of low and moderate income.  Broomfield also receives federal HOME Investment Partnership funds through its participation in the Boulder Broomfield Regional Consortium.  To receive funds, each entitlement community must prepare a Consolidated Plan consisting of a market analysis, a needs assessment, a strategic plan for addressing needs, and an annual action plan for the use of the funds.  The Consortium communities worked together to create a five-year Consolidated Plan.
