Public Information Officers
The Broomfield Police Department utilizes a team of public information officers. They are responsible for meeting with the press, addressing any inquiries from the media, and serving as the voice of the Department. The PIO Team strives to provide the appropriate facts while protecting the rights of the victims and the accused, without interfering with the investigation of a case.

The PIO Team is comprised of the following:
  • PIO Program Administrator – Emergency Manager Kent Davies
  • Primary PIO – Public Education Coordinator Joleen Reefe
  • Assistant PIO – Sergeant Steve Griebel
  • Supporting PIOs – Sergeants Rick Kempsell, Brendan Sullivan, David Walts, and Heidi Walts
The on-call public information officer can be reached through the Communications Center at 303.438.6400.
