Eight officers were chosen to participate and represent the entire Department. Among the Honor Guard's duties are parades, color presentations, official funerals, and other ceremonial occasions.

The first event for the Honor Guard was the 2001 Broomfield Days Parade. Today, the Honor Guard has 11 members and continues to participate in many special events, including the Department's annual awards banquet, the annual Broomfield Days Parade, Memorial and Veterans' Day celebrations, the 9/11 memorial, and other events as requested.
