Tree Branch Recycling Program
Seasonal Leaf and Pumpkin Drop-off
Fall leaves
Broomfield residents can drop off their fallen leaves and discarded pumpkins at the Broomfield Tree Limb Recycling Drop-off, 225 Commerce St., Saturday, Oct. 15 through Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Leaves: Leaves can be placed into the tree limb pile. If you transport your leaves in plastic bags, please empty the bags into the limb pile and take the bags home to reuse. Leaves will be chipped along with the tree limbs into mulch. Please do not leave any plastic bags on site.

Hours of Operation (the tree limb drop-off is closed at all other times):
Wednesdays, 1 to 5 p.m.
Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Attendant will be on duty, and proof of residency is required.

Please do NOT push your leaves into the gutter or street! The debris flushes into the stormwater system, which can plug storm drains and degrade the quality of ponds downstream.

Normal Site Operation - Tree Branches

Limb pile
This popular program is run by Broomfield's Park Services division and is co-located within the recycling drop-off center at 225 Commerce St. The tree branch area is located just behind the recycling bins on the north end of the site.

HOURS OF OPERATION: Due to space constraints with the small drop-off yard, the facility is open and staffed on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The site will be CLOSED at all other times. This schedule is in effect year-round, with some exceptions for holidays.

PLEASE NOTE: The site may sometimes close if it is extremely muddy or wet. If in doubt, please call 303.438.6334.

Only tree branches and shrub branches will be accepted. Please do not bring trash, sod, grass clippings, or other landscape debris, including lumber and fence materials. Absolutely no wire, nails, or metal of any kind is allowed due to potential damage to the tub grinder and risk to the operators. Branches more than 18 inches in diameter must be cut into 4-foot lengths.

This program is available to Broomfield residents only—NO contractors or non-residents; proof of residency will be required at the gate. The sight is monitored 24 hours by surveillance camera, and violators will be prosecuted for illegal dumping under section 8.04.020 of the Broomfield Municipal Code.

Free mulch is available year round at the Broomfield Recycling Center. Bring your shovel and take as much as you need—there is no limit!
