Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+)

The Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), is a full service health plan for Colorado's uninsured children age 18 and under. CHP+ is a managed care health plan and is not Medicaid. Coverage is limited to a comprehensive package of benefits designed specifically for children and youth. This program offers low-cost health and dental insurance to families who make too much money to join Medicaid but not enough to afford private insurance.  Children in CHP+ get their health services in an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization).  An HMO is a group of doctors, nurses, hospitals and othe rproviders who work together to give children in CHP+ health care.  Members must visit a doctor within the HMO. To learn more about the State's Child Health Plan Plus program, please visit the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing website.
