Family and Children's Services
United Families / Adoption Support Program The United Families program provides support services to adopted children and their families who reside in Broomfield. The program includes a family support network for adoptive families, including education and information sessions addressing topics of interest to the group. Support and information groups are held in conjunction with neighboring counties. United Families also provides referral resources to adoptive families with specific needs. The program provides financial assistance for recreational activities, respite and training for adoptive families to increase the strength and stability of the family through support of appropriate physical, emotional and educational development activities, enabling the adoptive children and their families to thrive. Funding for financial assistance if provided through a grant from the Adoptive Families Initiative and the City and County of Broomfield. United Families, in cooperation with the Colorado Coalition for Adoptive Families (COCAF), offers an annual relationship retreat for couples who have adopted through the social service system. This retreat provides respite and workshops to enhance the relationships of the couples who are parenting adopted children. For more information about the United Families program, contact the program coordinator at 720.887.2238.
