WASTE OIL RECYCLING PROGRAM

Broomfield residents can take advantage of
the Waste Oil Recycling program. Used cooking, motor, and transmission oils
are accepted. Bring oil to
the Fleet Division entrance of the Norman Smith Service Center at 3001 W. 124th Avenue
(just east of Lowell Boulevard). Place the oil to be recycled
on the blue table outside and come in to fill out a quick form. All oil containers will be returned to the owner
after disposal. A maximum of five gallons per household, per month is
allowed.
Did you know that an estimated 15 million gallons of used motor oil
is discharged into coastal waters annually due to businesses and
homeowners improperly disposing of used motor oil? The oil that is
brought to the Fleet Division is processed into petroleum that can be
used by licensed industrial burners. This completes the recycling chain
and keeps the used oil out of landfills and away from water supplies.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call Kathy at 303.438.6336 or email Kathy.
