Traffic calming devices such as small traffic islands, street “bump outs”, traffic circles and courtyard areas create sweeping challenges for Broomfield's Street Services division. The curb line angles along these areas make them difficult to clean with conventional, larger sweepers. The maneuverability of a smaller, specialized sweeper in these restricted areas results in a more efficient operation. The smaller sweeper is also used along streets that have overhanging trees. |
