Trash Collection/Curbside Recycling

Trash removal is contracted on an individual basis with private solid waste companies. Most of the trash haulers offer curbside recycling. Services, prices and pick-up days vary depending on the hauler you choose.   [Recycle]

If you live within a homeowners' association-regulated area, contact your homeowners' association or management company for information on trash removal. View a list of the Licensed Trash companies in Broomfield.

Tree Limb Recycling Program

Broomfield residents, do you prune your own trees? The City and County of Broomfield operates a Tree Limb Recycling Program at the Broomfield Recycling Center at 225 Commerce Street (south of the intersection of Highway 287 and Nickel Street across the railroad tracks). The tree Limb recycling program is offered for Broomfield residents only to drop shrubs and tree limbs for recycling.

HOURS OF OPERATION:  Due to space constraints with the small drop-off site, the tree-limb drop-off will be open on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The site will be CLOSED at all other times  Only tree branches and shrub branches will be accepted. Please do not bring  trash, sod, grass clippings or other landscape debris including lumber and fence materials. Absolutely no wire, nails or metal of any kind are allowed due to damage to the tub grinder and risk to the operators.

Branches more than 18 inches in diameter must be cut into 4-foot lengths.  Broomfield Residents only-NO contractors or non-residents, proof of residency will be required at the gate. The site is monitored at all times by surveillance camera, and violators will be prosecuted for illegal dumping under Section 8.04.020 of the Broomfield Municipal Code.

Free mulch is available year round at the Broomfield Recycling Center. Bring your shovel and take as much as you need—there is no limit!

Don't Dump—Donate New and Used Items

If you have non-hazardous items that you don't want to end up in the landfill, consider donating. There are many organizations that accept your gently-used items. Check the internet or phone directories for contact information.

Annual Spring Cleanup Event

The City and County of Broomfield provides a program for Broomfield residents to dispose of large items that the trash haulers do not normally take at the curb. This program is only offered once a year in the spring.  The dates for 2012 are April 28, May 5, and May 12, depending on the area of Broomfield in which you live. Watch for details of the 2012 program on this site, in utility bills, on KCCB Channel 8, and in the Broomfield Enterprise coming this spring.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

Broomfield provides annual drop-off days for Broomfield residents to properly dispose of harmful Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), typically once in the spring and once in the fall. The next event will be in May 12, 2012. Important HHW Information

Don't want to wait for the local HHW drop-off event? There is a regional collection facility available to Broomfield residents at no cost that is open Wednesday through Saturday year-round. See the Boulder County Household Hazardous Waste Program for more details. The facility is located at 1901 63rd Street (just off of 63rd Street and Arapahoe Avenue). The phone number is 720.564.2251.
