  Cable Channel 8

Cable Channel 8 Broomfield has been serving the residents of Broomfield since the city franchised with Jones Intercable in the 1980’s. The City and County took over the channel in 2003. Channel 8 is the City and County of Broomfield’s government access cable channel and a service of the City and County Manager’s Office. Channel 8 provides live televised coverage of the Broomfield City Council meetings which shape our community. We also produce and air a variety of original programming including:

• Public service announcements
• Local News Briefs
• Informative shows about city services
• Special event coverage
• Documentaries
• Greater Metro Telecommunications Consortium Programming

Through our programming, we hope to inform and entertain the residents of the City and County of Broomfield. Broomfield’s Channel 8 won first in the 2008 Excellence in Government Programming award from the National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors (NATOA). The program “Green Broomfield” also received a first place award. “Family, Fun and Fitness,” a show featuring Recreation Services programs and events, received a second place and other shows received honorable mention at the September 20 conference.
