This historic cemetery  was incorporated in 1890. The two-acre site was sold to the Lakeview Cemetery Association in 1891 for $50. Cemetery Association volunteers carefully recorded the deceased person’s name, age, year, months and day of death, as well as the cemetery lot and block numbers and cause of death.  The earliest burial was in October 1888 and the last burial was in 1954. The history of Lakeview Cemetery can be seen at the Broomfield Historical Depot Museum. Lakeview Cemetery was deeded to the City of Broomfield as a memorial park in 1973.  Since then, the cemetery has been maintained by Broomfield Public Works.

In 1992, the City began offering interment for cremated remains only. Lakeview Cemetery is open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm every day. Interments must be scheduled two business days in advance and may occur between 8 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday (except holidays), and on Saturday between 9 am and noon.

Information on pre-need and at-need interment at Lakeview Cemetery is available by contacting Nancy Harrold at 303-460-6903, Nan Davis at 303-460-6908 or Matthew Martella at 303-464-5619.
