Weatherization Update

The City and County of Broomfield has received weatherization grant funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) Weatherization Program partners with agencies throughout the state to provide free weatherization services to income eligible Colorado residents.  Long’s Peak Energy Conservation serves the City and County of Broomfield along with Boulder County, Gilpin County, and Larimer County.  Click here for the Free Weatherization Brochure, or check out the program on the GEO website, or go directly to the Long’s Peak Energy Conservation website.



We have adopted the 2006 series of International Codes and are enforcing the 2008 National Electric Code.  Summaries of major code changes can be found here on our applicable codes page.  You may see our local amendments to these codes here. 252kPDF
 

The 2009 series of International Codes have been published.  Broomfield will be pursuing adoption of the 2009 codes in the next year.  Please follow this link to a PowerPoint presentation outlining some of the major code changes.

NEW - a mid-roof inspection is now required for all re-roof permits when the roof is between 25% and 75% complete.  Use telephone codes 109 for mid-roof and 105 for final roof inspections.
