Gardening in Broomfield |

Broomfield’s Environmental Services and Park Services Divisions and the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library are partnering to provide educational opportunities for water-efficient landscaping and gardening. Enjoy your summer by adding to the value of your home, reducing water consumption, reducing the amount of maintenance needed in your yard and much more! The following classes are taught by Broomfield's professional Forestry, Horticulture and Irrigation Specialists. Donation of a non-perishable food item for FISH, a local food bank, is appreciated. All classes are held at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library (second floor Eisenhower Room), 3 Community Park Rd.

"The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry"
~ A film hosted and narrated by Jane Seymour Tuesday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. Narrated by Jane Seymour, this film provides audiences in-depth awareness about the water crisis in the western United States and conservation, water reuse, desalination, and the Colorado River.
This film is being shown in conjunction with Colorado Water 2012. The Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library hosts the traveling Colorado Water 2012 display in May (approximately May 6-19) and also during May will host the photo exhibit "Grit: Coloradans and the Dust Bowl." This photo exhibit uses images from the collection of the Colorado History Museum, the Western History Collection of the Denver Public Library, and the Library of Congress. |

Adult Summer Reading Program ~ Read with a Friend!
The Adult Summer Reading Program kicks off June 1. "Read with a Friend!" is this summer's theme. Bring in your pet photo to post on the wall. Read 3 books, return your Reading Card, and be eligible to win awesome prizes, including a Kindle Fire! Receive a zippered pouch with the first Reading Card returned (one/person). Enter as many times as you want June 1-July 28 at 5 p.m. at the Reference Desk.

Summer Movie Nights @ Your Library
Summer Movie Nights return at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library ~ Tuesdays @ 7 p.m., June 5 – July 24. Children under 13 must be accompanied by someone 13 or older. No food or beverages permitted in the Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30. Movies are for a variety of ages, so please visit the library for a list of featured titles and ratings.
