  1. Children - One Book 4 Colorado April 7 - 21

    April 15, All Day @ 3 Community Park Rd.

    All 4 year olds in Colorado will receive their own copy of the same book to keep! Bring your 4 year old to the Children's Library any time between Monday, April 7th & Monday, April 21st to pick up the FREE book; there will be both English and Spanish versions available. This year’s book will be announced on Monday April 7. Lt. Governor Joe Garcia is leading an early literacy initiative so that every child in Colorado is reading at grade level by third grade. One Book 4 Colorado is a fun way to make that happen and support parents as their child's first teacher. For more information, follow the project's website at www.onebook4colorado.org/

  2. Children - Preschool Story Time

    April 15, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Children's Library Story Room

    Preschoolers enjoy stories and songs that develop early literacy skills and foster curiosity. This program is reserved for children ages 3 - 5 who can sit on their own and comfortably participate in a variety of literature based activities geared towards preparing children for learning to read. Asking children to attend without their caregivers helps to develop a sense of independence that will be needed as they start school. No registration required.Stop at the Children's Desk for a name tag and a ticket. This program is repeated on Thursdays, 1:30 - 2:00 PM

  3. Pinwheel Planting

    April 15, 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ In front of the Library

    In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, National Week of the Young Child and National Library Week, a Pinwheel Garden is being planted in Broomfield outside of the library. These whimsical toys are to remind the community of happy childhood days and to encourage positive parenting. The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign focuses on community activities and public policies that prioritize the healthy development of children in recognition that healthy children are an essential building block for community and economic development. Shining in the sun, the pinwheels represent a bright future for our children and our community. Pinwheel “planting” will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15th in front of the library.   4. Children - Art Stop On the Go

    April 15, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Children's Library Story Room

    For ages 6 - 12 Registration Required and begins April 1 720-887-2315 The Children's Library and Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art have teamed up to bring you several art-making workshops in 2014. Express yourself through a variety of art media, with the emphasis on creativity and fun.

  5. Teen - Discovery Lab - Ages 9-18

    April 15, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ the first floor of the library, left of the circul

    Drop in to participate in activities that focus on science and art related subjects. Each session will offer materials for hands-on learning and directional support from an adult or teen volunteer. Open to students ages 9-18, no registration required. The Discovery Lab is located on the first floor to the left of the Circulation Desk.

  6. Teen - Boost Your Brain - Grades 6-12

    April 15, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ the Eisenhower Room, on the 2nd floor of the libra

    Free math and science tutoring. Half-hour sessions available every Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm in the Teen Zone. This program is free for teens in grades 6-12. Registration is required and may be done at the Teen Zone Desk or by calling the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library Young Adult Department at 720-887-2360
